sit up or SLOUCH

I finally made myself a starter slouch hat. Nothing big about the pattern, I just used some awesome soft pretty yarn instead.









Here's the pattern I used (a pattern I found in a knitting magazine and mixed up a bit to make it what I wanted)

Slouch Hat

skill level: easy

size: adult. one size fits most.

finished measurements
circumference= 20"
length=about 11 inches from cast on edge to top.

Yarn
Deborah Norville Everyday Soft Worsted
100% acrylic (Anti-Pilling Fiber); 3.5 oz. (100gms); 180 yds. (165 m); medium weight
-1 ball #06 Parrot

Needles & Extras
Size 8 16" circular needles
stitch marker
tapestry needle

gauge: 18 sts and 24 rows = 4" (10cm) over stockinette stitch.

Instructions
CO 84 sts, join to knit in round.
work in rib stitch (k1, p1) for 2 1/5 inches
Work in Stockinette st (knit every stitch) until piece measures 9 inches from co edge.
Shape Crown:
rnd 1: k2tog, k4; rep around -70sts.
rnd 2,4,6,8: knit
rnd 3: k2tog, k3; rep around -56sts
rnd 5: k2tog, k2; rep around -42sts
rnd 7: k2tog, k1; rep around -28sts
rnd 9: k2tog; rep around -14sts
rnd 10: (k2tog)7 times -7sts
cut yarn. with tapestry needle, run tail through rem 7 sts and fasten off. weave in ends.
